How to Increase Your Vertical Jump

We might not be able to fly but we can jump. How high a person can jump varies from person to person. WARMING UP

A warm up is essential before you can start any exercises. If you fail to do this, you stand a high risk of causing cramps in your muscle. Do light aerobic workouts. You can jog gently. The aim is to get your blood pumping.

JUMPING EXERCISES
All done with the warm up? Now you are ready. Your body is now ready to try out some exercises. For the best jumping heights, you need to increase the flexibility and thrust of your knees. The following are some of the routines you can do.

Deep Knee Bends – Start from a standing position. Gently bent your knees without bending your back. Bend your knees as low as you possibly can. Do this 10 to 15 times.

Deep Knee Bend Jumps – Again start from a standing position. Then in one fluid movement crouch as low as you can and then shoot yourself up into the air. Repeat the sequence as soon as you land. Do 10 to 15 repetitions of this.

Toe Raises – Start from a standing position with your back straight. Keep your back straight as you slowly raise yourself on your toes. Count gently to two before slowly lowering yourself. Avoid rocking back and forth. Do this again 25 times.

Jumping Rope – Practice makes perfect they say. Try engaging in a series of daily jumps with the help of a jump rope. This will improve your reflexes as well as strengthen the muscles required for jumping.
